ARCH is Adolescent Residential Center for Help, an intensive residential treatment program for chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders. Our facility houses 16 residents and is located on Hiland Road in Eagle River, Alaska. ARCH serves chemically dependent adolescents, ages 12 through 18, in a structured home-like environment, providing clear limits and boundaries. The length of stay ranges from 4 to 6 months, depending upon the needs of each individual resident.

ARCH provides:

  • Individual, Group, and Family Counseling
  • Psychological Services
  • Adventure Based Counseling
  • Milieu Therapy
  • On-site educational services through the Anchorage School District
  • Nutritional programs and information

There is a strong emphasis on building the skills necessary for recovery and successful transition back into the community. Family participation is strongly encouraged, with family members being offered education, counseling, and support.

ARCH is accredited by the Commission on Acreditation of Rehabilitative Facilities (CARF) and are approved by the State of Alaska's Division of Behavioral Health. ARCH is also licensed by the Division of Public Health. Medicaid and most insurance are accepted and billed, and no one is turned away due to the inability to pay. Our fees are adjusted on a sliding scale.

Volunteers of America Alaska's ARCH is funded in part by the State of Alaska Division of Behavioral Health and the Mental Health Trust Authority.
